Democrat Katie McGinty Pulls Ahead of Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania Senate Race
I missed this a couple days back - some candidates have Coat-tails, some candidates have coat fails.
In the 2016 Senate race in Pennsylvania between Republican incumbent Pat Toomey and Democratic challenger Katie McGinty, the polls over the past year have shown Toomey safely in the lead, then less safely in the lead, then just barely in the lead. Now, for the first time in the entire course of the race, McGinty has pulled ahead of him in new NBC and Wall Street Journal Polling.
Katie McGinty now leads by three points, by a 47% to 44% margin, according to the new poll. This is the first polling data in the Pennsylvania Senate to come from any polling outlet in nearly a month, making it difficult to externally confirm, but it does suggest that McGinty has indeed finally pulled ahead after so many months of gradually inching closer. So what finally put her over the top?
